Lip Blush Aftercare Instructions

Lip blush cycle
after care

Aftercare is very important for a good result. Read carefully. Colour will be lost or patchy with any procedure if after care is not followed. Follow instructions carefully as this greatly affects the outcome of your lip blush

lip aftercare
  • Use clean Q-tips to apply Antibiotic Ointment (Bacitracin Zinc, or Polysporin) 3 times daily for 3 days. If you have allergic reaction to the antibiotic ointment, i.e. redness, rash and swelling, stop using it and see your doctor immediately.

  • Avoid eating spicy and salty food. Use straw to drink for the first a few days. Salt can remove the pigments and cause colour lost.

  • Keep the area CLEAN. Use sodium chloride soaked cotton balls to gently wipe away excess fluid and pigment.

  • Keep the area MOISTURIZED. Use Aftercare as an after care anti-oxidant. Gently apply every hour or two or when you feel tender, itchy or dry for 10–14 days.

  • This provides pain relief, moisturizes, prevents infection, promotes healing and helps retain colour. (If you do not have Bacitracin Zinc, or Polysporin use Vaseline or Vitamin A & D ointment instead).

  • Avoid soaps/facial cleansers on pigmented areas (wash around them) pat dry with a clean towel.

  • Before showering, use Aftercare first and apply Vaseline on top. Do not directly shower the treated area.

  • Before sleeping, use Aftercare as well as a thick layer of Vaseline or A&D Ointment on top to keep the area moisturized overnight.

  •  DO NOT rub, scratch or pick any crust along the tattooed area. Early removal of pigment crusts may result in lost colour.

  • DO NOT apply makeup on the pigmented area during the healing process.

  •  Avoid swimming, soaking, steam bath and facials for the 1 st week.

  • Avoid applying Exfoliates or AHA/glycolic acid products to the tattooed area for at least 2 weeks.

  • Avoid sun exposure (including tanning beds) during healing process.

  • If you have a history of cold sores/fever blisters/herpes on or around your lips, you MUST obtain prescription ZOVIROX/VALTREX from your doctor. Start prescription 3 days before and 5 days after procedure (or follow the doctor’s instruction). Failure to take this anti-viral medication may result in an outbreak which will cause color lost and patchy

LONG TERM CARE

  • Use a good sunscreen daily with SPF 30 up to SPF 50 on tattooed area otherwise the colour will fade faster.

  • Our pigment is iron-oxide based which your body absorbs as mineral irons, so the color will fade over time. You may need a touch-up every 1- 3 years. The fading speed depends on your skin type.

  • If you are planning a chemical peel, MRI or other medical procedure, please tell them that you have had an iron-oxide cosmetic tattoo

  • If you are planning to have laser treatment, tell your laser specialist to avoid the pigmented area. Laser may cause pigment to turn black.

IMPORTANT:

·  If a cold sore outbreak does occur, it will generally begin on day 3 of the healing process. This is not caused by your tattoo or your artist. Herpes lies dormant in the nervous system forever and can reappear if you are exposed to trauma. please contact your doctor to see if they recommend putting you on an antiviral herpes medication. All clients who are prone to cold sores were advised from me prior to take antiviral medication to prevent an outbreak, but sometimes it can live in your body without your knowledge and cause a surprise outbreak. This is extremely rare, but if you feel a strange sensation in your lips it is always advised to seek medical advice asap.

· Remember, your selected colour will be stronger and more sharply defined immediately after your tattoo.
· The next day, your lips will appear darker in colour.
· After the skin has flaked/peeled away from your lips (during days 3-5) your lips will appear as if little or no colour is present. This is normal and part of the healing process.
· In the 3-8 weeks following this, the colour will blossom into a considerably softer version of the original colour.
· The approximate healing period is 14 days, however, healing can be prolonged if your immune system is compromised or if you are generally stressed, or by poor diet.
· Keep in mind that in many cases, some unevenness of colour is to be expected or color not show up as bold as you has hope. This is why we book a touch-up appointment - allowing me to fine-tune your lip tattoo. It might take one or two session of touch up depend on your body.

-Generally, 8 weeks are the best time for 1st touch up session. It is recommended that you do not do anything under 8 weeks and leave time for your lip to heal. Your lip color might go dark and wil gradually get brighter until the 8 week mark. (exact time depend on person to person)

- We only use organic color pigment so it will take time to show up. DO NOT expect the color to show up right away. It is an unhealthy way to do beauty. We can certianly use cheap color pigment that will show color rightway after it done peeling but your lip will be dark and wrinkle after a year or so

- Last but not least, trust me and trust the process. DO NOT BE IMPATIENT. Give it time to heal and time for me to show you why i got to master rank

For any dark lip neutralization - your lips will get darker before it gets lighter. Please be patient with the process.

Once you are done peeling, your lips will initially look even. Then, the dark areas will get even darker than they were before (don’t freak). Once that phase passes, your lips will begin to lighten up again. There is also a risk of hypo pigmentation in which certain areas of your lips will be discoloured or turn white. If this does happen, it is temporary and will go away. This whole process takes about 7-8 weeks to see the final true result. During this time, you may wear lipstick when you are done peeling while you are going through these phases.
